3D Gaming Alliance Studies What Gamers Want

The S-3D Gaming Alliance announced that it has launched The U-Decide Initiative, an industry-wide effort to survey PC and console gamers around the world to find out more about the consumer perspective. The survey opens today and ends October 1, 2010.

According to the statement, once the study ends, a drawing for over 50 prizes will be held. Respondents could win a Panasonic 3D HDTV, a Zalman FullHD 21.5 inch 3D Monitor, gaming headsets by Steelseries and over 40 PC and console games by Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Blitz Games Studios.

“Panasonic supports this effort to tie consumers to 3D technology. That’s why we joined The S-3D Gaming Alliance (S3DGA), and we are adding a Panasonic 3D HDTV as the grand prize. Reviewers say it’s the best 3D HDTV out there, and we think gamers will be excited by this,” said James Mercs, Managing Director of Panasonic Hollywood Labs.

“Electronic Arts is a founding sponsor of U-Decide, and we hope gamers will enjoy the 25 titles we are adding to the drawing for PC and consoles. We anticipate hearing what gamers have to say about stereoscopic 3D gaming, and the products they are most excited about,” said Alan Price, Chief Technical Officer for Electronic Arts Canada.

The survey is multiple choice and takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Interested gamers should visit www.mtbs3d.com and select U-Decide from the top menu. While Meant to be Seen registration is required, it is both free and instantaneous.
