Vanguard Software Solutions (VSS) announced at IBC 2010 new 3D video products based on VSS MVC Encoder and Decoder SDKs.
According to the statement, NetBlender’s DoStudio MVC (3D) Encoder is a fast professional quality offline encoder for Blu-ray 3D authoring. VSS 3DStreamer is a Live MVC (3D) Encoder and Streamer to PCs and 3D STB players over the Internet. Vanguard will also demonstrate at IBC 3D Capture and encode FPGA based solutions and 3D stream player reference designs for Windows and Linux appliances.
“Our 3D Encoding and Authoring products are in high demand,” said John Harrington, NetBlender CEO. “While Blu-ray producers in Hollywood have been impressed with DoStudio MVC Encoder’s quality and industry’s fastest encode speeds – which makes it great for 3D dailies — many other publishers have discovered that BD3D is simply the most practical way to distribute high quality 3D content. Producers of 3D video for sports, science and industrial applications can now distribute their content in a format that delivers the highest quality high def 3D playback available that is compatible with any Blu-ray 3D player and 3DTV.”
“In the Perfect Storm of 3D Movies and 3D capable Consumer Electronics, VSS is sailing full steam ahead with the most capable MVC (3D) encoding engine,” said Felix Nemirovsky, VSS Marketing VP. “But the 3D phenomenon can not succeed without high quality, standardized 3D content. VSS MVC SDK is the most valuable part in making this possible. At IBC we will demonstrate 3D Blu-ray titles, Live 3D Encoding with real-time streaming to NVIDIA 3D Vision based PCs and consumer 3D TVs.”
