Integra Launches THX Certified Blu-ray Player

Integra announced a pair of Blu-ray Disc players at the CEDIA Expo, including the DBS-50.2, which is the company’s first THX certified model.

According to the statement, the DBS-50.2 ($700) and DBS-30.2 ($500) feature an Ethernet port for BD-Live (Profile 2.0) as well as access to video on-demand services such as Netflix, CinemaNow and Blockbuster On Demand.

The Integra DBS-50.2 and DBS-30.2 offer HDMI 1.3a to support 1080p, Deep Color, x.v.color, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Both upscale all standard definition DVD sources to 1080p and the DBS-50.2 accomplishes this using a Marvell Qdeo HD Video processor. The players support all standard BD, DVD, CD media, including ROM, RE and MP3 CDs, plus each has an SD/SDHC memory card slot. Both players are DLNA 1.5 Certified for streaming videos, photos, and music and play AVCHD, WMA and JPEG formats.

The DBS-50.2 has a heavy-duty and rigid chassis with double-layer top cover and a balanced drive mechanism. The audio, digital video, and analog video circuits are physically isolated from each other and there is 7.1-channel analog audio output. In addition to HDMI, both players have component and composite video outputs and optical/coaxial digital audio outputs.
