TeraStack® Solution: Reliable Data Storage and Management for Law Enforcement
Blu-ray™ Media Provides Advantages to Digital Asset Management Programs
Mckinney, TX — October 26, 2010 — Hie Electronics is pleased to announce the adoption of the TeraStack® Solution by police departments within the United States. Hie Electronics introduced the TeraStack® Solution for digital asset management at the International Association of Chiefs of Police conference in 2009.
In the last several months, major U.S. metropolitan police departments have begun to use the TeraStack® Solution data storage and management technology which utilizes durable Blu-ray media in its compact unit.
The TeraStack® Solution is helping police departments manage data more efficiently and store data longer. In addition to the demand for reliable digital asset management, police departments are deluged with daily video from patrol cars, portable camera systems used to deter crime, data from crime technology centers and forensic evidence.
Police departments can store the increasing amount of data and make it easily retrievable for evidence purposes with the TeraStack® Solution. The compact optical data storage management system securely manages 78 TB of online and nearline data with unlimited offline storage.
The TeraStack® Solution is also appropriate for installation in broader public safety venues, and is currently being used in Europe in a major entertainment and sports complex.
