Electro-Federation Canada (EFC), a national, not-for-profit industry association, is pleased to announce the promotion of Susan Winter to the position of Vice President, Consumer Electronics Marketers of Canada (CEMC) council, effective January 3, 2011. Susan will continue to report to Jim Taggart, President & CEO, Electro-Federation Canada.
In her new role, Susan will be responsible for strategically positioning CEMC in the Canadian consumer electronics market, identifying membership growth opportunities, strengthening relationships with key industry organizations such as the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Standards Council of Canada (SCC), Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), Electronics Product Stewardship Canada (EPSC), Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), Radio Advisory Board of Canada (RABC), and others.
In addition, Susan will continue to manage member relations, enhance existing and develop new value-added programs to meet CEMC members’ requirements, provide leadership to the Council, to its members and each of its eight product group committees, as well as represent EFC on a number of committees at the Standards Council of Canada, including one on International Standards for Consumer Product Safety and ISO Consumer Policy.
Susan joined EFC in July 2010 as Manager, CEMC, and in this short period of time, has developed strong relationships with members and will continue to meet with each CEMC member to assess needs. She is currently also leading the production of a CEMC membership brochure and a council Website, both of which are underway and will be launched early in the new year.
“This promotion reinforces EFC’s commitment to recognizing strong talent within the association,” said Jim Taggart, President & CEO, Electro-Federation Canada. “Susan continually demonstrates strong leadership and association management skills, as well as employs effective strategic thinking – all of which play a critical role in further developing our CEMC council, enhancing value-added programs, and building a stronger reputation for EFC and CEMC in the market.”
Prior to joining EFC, Susan served as Manager, Committee and Consumer Services at Canadian Standards Association (CSA). She was responsible for CSA’s membership program, including recruitment, retention, training and education. She also led CSA’s member satisfaction survey programs and set policies and procedures in place for the administration of CSA’s membership database. Susan has also held senior-level management positions at other associations, including the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario, the Society of Certified Management Accountants of Canada, the Canadian Medical Association, and others.
