Toshiba Europe introduces slim Full HD LED-TVs with network connectivity
Windows7® certified and WLAN ready RL833 series TVs
Neuss, Germany, 15th February 2011 – Toshiba Visual Products, a division of Toshiba Europe GmbH, today unveiled the new RL833 LED-TV series. The Windows® 7 certified devices are targeted at consumers who want to experience Full HD picture quality along with easy access to content from a broad range of different sources including the internet or via a home network. The RL833 series includes three models; one with an 80cm (32’’) screen, one with a 94cm (37’’) screen and the third one with a 107cm (42’’) screen. All TVs feature HD tuners for DVB-C and DVB-T. The RL833 series TVs will be available throughout Europe as of March 2011.
Integration into the home multimedia networks and the Web
“Toshiba’s new RL series TVs which offer Windows® 7 compatibility and network connectivity address the desire often increasing member of consumers in Europe to install home multimedia networks and also want to connect their TVs with other devices and the Web,” said Sascha Lange, Head of Marketing Visual Products Toshiba Europe. “To bring this blend of multimedia features to the masses, Toshiba‘s RL833 series will be available at a very attractive price level.”
Connected to the world
The RL series features a broad selection of useful applications, including direct access to the video platform YouTube™. RL833 series TVs support the DLNA® standard to facilitate content sharing with other devices within the home network. Access to a home network can easily be installed via a wired LAN connection or, thanks to RL833’s WLAN readiness, wirelessly via an optional USB WLAN dongle. Windows® 7 certification makes it easy to stream content by using the “play to” function from a connected laptop running Windows® 7 directly to the TV screen. Furthermore the RS833 series also features four HDMI interfaces and a USB port.
Cinematic experience
Powered by Toshiba’s Meta Brain chip the RL833 series achieves excellent picture quality 1080p high definition and thus is designed for those who expect outstanding technology and performance at an affordable price. Toshiba’s picture quality enhancing technology Resolution+ visibly upscales SD content to near HD quality in real time. To provide the watcher with a cinema feeling, Toshiba has equipped the RL833 series with the picture preset Hollywood Mode and the possibility to calibrate the screen settings manually in the expert menus. Both features were previously available only in high-end TVs.
Optimizing picture and sound quality
Toshiba has equipped the RL833 series with a number of powerful usability tools: The AutoView™ function ensures that the screen’s parameter settings, including brightness, contrast, gamma, sharpness and colour saturation, are always adjusted to the optimum level by permanently monitoring ambient light conditions and analysing the content displayed on the screen. The Dolby® Volume sound levelling application constantly maintains a consistent volume level once set by the user, even during commercials or when changing channels. Last but not least Toshiba’s SoundNavi automatically adjusts the sound settings according to the way the TV is mounted.
