Marchon3D™ Launches EX3D™ Glasses to the Mass Market in Europe
HANOVER, Germany (CeBIT Hall 15 Booth #A16) – March 1, 2011 – Marchon Eyewear, a leading distributor and manufacturer of designer and sports technology eyewear, introduces Marchon3D’s new collection: EX3D™ eyewear to the European market, powered by its patented M3D™ 3D curved lens technology.
EX3D enhances the consumer’s 3D viewing experience while giving them the option to personalize their look with an array of frame and color choices to suit individual tastes. The launch collection includes 25 styles to outfit the whole family. With 3D technology assimilating into the home, 3D eyewear cannot hide in the dark. EX3D offers the family 3D in fashionable form.
“Ghosting and light reflections are less of an issue in a dark theater, but when viewing 3D content at home there are a variety of lighting conditions that can negatively impact your experience,” said David Johnson, Marchon3D President. “EX3D addresses these issues and functions in all light conditions. It allows the wearer to go from the theater, to passive technology video game consoles, to passive 3D televisions and laptops without ever changing their glasses.”
The unique curvature of M3D lenses offers greater image immersion without peripheral distractions. They also provide high-definition 3D optics, increased picture clarity and ultra-high 3D contrast while minimizing light contamination, distortion and haze.
“As consumers invest in 3D electronics, they’re looking to personalize their 3D eyewear to fit both their aesthetic and technological needs,” said Hannah Sarbin, Vice President, New Business Development for Marchon Eyewear. “Theater frames simply don’t make the cut when viewing 3D content at home in the daylight.”
Each style within the EX3D collection is RealD® certified with scratch-resistant lenses that provide 100 percent UV protection. The revolutionary 3D eyewear works with most passive 3D technologies. The collection retails for $30.00 to $35.00 and will be sold in theaters, electronic retail stores and select e-commerce sites.
