Sony DADC Germany going Green

Distribution service provider receives environmental certificate ISO 14001

Dietzenbach/Frankfurt, August 5, 2011 – Sony DADC Germany with its distribution centres in Dietzenbach and Heusenstamm near Frankfurt, just received the sought-after environmental certificate ISO 14001. This was possible due to the implementation of an extensive environmental management system. One of the fundamental measurements is the use of 100% renewable energy for its operations – a measurement already implemented in 2005. As the production site in Austria also meets these demands, from now on the entire Sony DADC supply chain for the German speaking market is certified according to ISO 14001.

“Environmental management is a fixed component of Sony DADC’s company philosophy” says Michael Hechler, Managing Director of Sony DADC Germany. “Therefore, sourcing and production processes have been aligned with the highest possible environmental compatibility for many years. The ISO certification of our distribution sites now shows that Sony DADC works ecologically along the complete value chain including logistics.”

The international code ISO 14001 is the world’s leading standard for the content and performance of environmental management in companies and other organisations. The code focuses on CIP (continuous improvement process). Based on individual environmental goals, companies develop respective management systems guaranteeing achievement of objectives.
