Rovi Powers New Online Video Service from Leading Entertainment Group in China

Mei Ah Group Licenses DivX Video and DRM Technologies to Provide Premium Entertainment Experiences across a Range of Consumer Electronics

Santa Clara, Calif. – 11/2/2011 – Rovi (NASDAQ: ROVI) and Mei Ah Digital Technology Ltd., one of the companies in Mei Ah Entertainment Group, today announced the companies have collaborated to launch a new Chinese online Video-On-Demand (VOD) service called BOYABO (http://boyabo.com) that provides consumers convenient access to premium movies and TV entertainment. The new service includes movie titles available for digital distribution by the Mei Ah Entertainment Group, including new releases, library content, and television programs. Additional content from other movie studios is expected to be added in the future.

BOYABO offers titles for download-to-own as well as download-to-rent in the DivX format and uses DivX® video and DRM technologies to provide users the freedom to download and enjoy content across an extensive, multi-manufacturer ecosystem of consumer electronics devices, as well as Windows and Mac computers. Mei Ah plans to extend service availability to international markets later this year.

DivX technologies are recognized by millions of consumers around the world for delivering great video performance, visual quality, and multi-screen interoperability. Over 500 million DivX devices have shipped into the market worldwide, ranging from Blu-ray players and HDTVs to game consoles and smartphones. DivX movies can be easily transferred via optical disc, USB drive, and SD memory cards or content can be streamed over a home network using DNLA for playback on registered DivX Certified devices.

DivX devices contain digital rights management technology to enable the secure playback of premium movies in the DivX format. Other online retailers currently offering titles in the DivX format include WB Shop, Media Markt, and Film Fresh.
