Various published sources report that Panasonic has placed orders for Blu-ray Disc (BD) players from contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn Electronics).

According to the reports, the deal is expected to be worth roughly NT$50 billion (US $1.56 billion) in additional revenue to Hon Hai.
