Coinstar, Inc. announced that it has installed more than 22,210 DVD rental kiosks, exceeding the company’s guidance for installations in 2009.

According to the statement, Coinstar’s redbox DVD kiosk brand has averaged 900 installations per month and, earlier this year, Coinstar and redbox announced roll-outs with Kroger, Albertson’s and 7-Eleven stores. Fully automated kiosks are now placed at more than 19,000 locations in the U.S. including grocery and convenience stores, McDonald’s, and Walmart and Walgreens locations in select markets.
