Hollywood IT Society Announces Digital Marketing & Analytics Summit

September 28 Event to Focus on Advancing Use of Data for Entertainment Business Decision-making

LOS ANGELES — The Hollywood IT Society has announced the launch of its Digital Marketing and Analytics Summit, which is being presented in cooperation with Variety magazine on Sept. 28 at the W Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.

The Summit will feature leading technologists, researchers and marketers who are advancing the use of an escalating amount of digital data in order to boost business for film, TV and home entertainment across a multiplying number of distribution platforms. Panels and presentations will feature thought leaders in IT, asset management, sales and marketing; and technology solutions from the Hollywood studios and their marketing, research and service partners.

“As audiences are more interactive than ever in their entertainment consumption, it’s become increasingly easier for marketers and the information technology community to gather data on their preferences,” says conference Program Chair Devendra Mishra. “However, as massive amounts of audience data flow in from social media networks, online content hubs and other sources, there is a rising level of complexity in efficiently parsing out what actually is valuable consumer info. This Summit will help the various stakeholders understand how to best use new technologies to assist them in making their business decisions.”

The conference advisory board includes: Steve Andujar, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Sony Pictures Entertainment; John Herbert, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer at 20th Century Fox; Steve Lapinski, Senior Vice President, Information Technology at NBCUniversal; Theresa Miller, Executive Vice President, Information Technology at Lionsgate; Jeff Mirich, Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer, Studio Anti-Piracy at The Walt Disney Studios; Beth Overhuls, Vice President, Business Systems Engineering, at The Walt Disney Company; Scott Phelan, Group Information Officer at Warner Bros.
