Redbox Reaches One Millionth Rental in Canada
Redbox thanks Canadians with rental deals on Facebook in coming weeks
MARKHAM, ONTARIO — (March 27, 2013) – Ten months after its first rental in Canada, Redbox, North America’s destination for new release movie and video game rentals, marked an entertainment milestone with its millionth disc rental on Saturday, March 23, 2013. To celebrate the landmark rental, Redbox is offering rental deals to Canadian movie lovers, which they can find on the Redbox Canada Facebook page between now and April 11, 2013. Redbox is also inviting Canadian customers to enjoy a free one-night DVD rental on March 27, 2013, if they’ve signed up at redbox.ca or at the kiosk to be on the Redbox Canada email list.
“We’re delighted that Canadians have chosen Redbox as their destination for easy, affordable entertainment a million times over in just 10 months,” said Ron Cihocki, country manager, Redbox Canada. “To thank Canada for helping us reach our one millionth rental, we invite customers to enjoy great rental offers by visiting our Facebook page over the coming weeks.”
Redbox, founded in the United States in 2002, installed its first Canadian kiosks outside of Vancouver in May 2012. Today, Redbox kiosks can be found across Ontario and Western Canada. Visit redbox.ca to find a Redbox location near you.
Consumers can experience Redbox by visiting the Redbox Canada Facebook page to share promo codes for discounted movie and game rentals with friends and family. The values and expiration dates of the promo codes vary. New-release movies now available include Skyfall and Wreck-It Ralph; awards-season favourite Life of Pi will be coming to kiosks in April.
