Taiyo Yuden announced financial results for the third quarter of its fiscal year ending March 31, 2014.

According to the statement, net sales of optical storage media (CD-R, DVD±R, BD-R) increased 11.2% over the previous quarter to ¥3,813 million ($37.01 million USD), but dropped 8.3% to ¥10,599 million ($103.12 million USD) in the first nine months compared to the same period last year.

The company’s full year optical media sales forecast remains unchanged at ¥13,500 million ($131.34 million USD), down 12.4% from 2013.
