BEAVERTON, Ore., Sept. 16, 2015 — The HDBaseT Alliance, the cross-industry group tasked with promoting and advancing HDBaseT technology, will attend CEDIA EXPO 2015, in Dallas, Texas, and offer several enrichment and training courses for professional installers and integrators. HDBaseT is the ‘de facto’ standard for the transmission of uncompressed ultra-high-definition video & audio, controls, Ethernet, USB and up to 100W of power over a single cable.

The following courses are available for attendees:

• The HDBaseT Expert Installer Program: Targeted at installers and integrators who would like to learn more about HDBaseT technology, the Expert Program includes in-depth information about HDBaseT, including technology principles, installation do’s and don’ts, best practices, product certification and interoperability, and a hands-on tutorial and demonstration. Attendees will receive the HDBaseT Expert Certificate upon completion. The training takes place on Friday, October 16th, 10:30 am -1:30 pm, and will be led by Ariel Marcus, Installation Expert, HDBaseT Alliance.

• HDBaseT Installations: Case Studies & Real-Life Applications: HDBaseT technology has been established as a standard of choice for many AV and residential projects, as it brings the versatility of the 5Play features (audio/video, control, Ethernet, USB and up to 100 watts of power) over the flexibility of a category cable, for distances up to 330 feet. This session describes installations and projects where HDBaseT was utilized to address limitations and challenges in the field. The session takes place on Saturday, October 17th, 10:00-11:30 am, and will be led by Malcolm Edwards, General Manager for the Americas, at Valens

• HDBaseT Switching & Connectivity Challenges for 4K UHD Over Cat 5e/Cat 6 & HDMI 2.0/HDCP 2.2: With in-depth coverage of how HDBaseT works, including PAM-16 modulation and system architecture, this session also addresses the advantages and disadvantages of CAT5e/CAT6 and UTP/STP connectivity for video formats up to HDMI 2.0. In addition, participants will discuss the challenges of HDCP 2.2 and will learn how to “future proof” CAT5e/CAT6 wiring. The session takes place on Wednesday, October 14th, 1:00 – 2:30 pm, and will be led by Mike Tsinberg, President, Key Digital Systems.

“Educating the market is a key element in the HDBaseT Alliance’s directives. Even though HDBaseT has become a household name in the AV sector, we continue to expand our educational activities to reach more professionals and to update them as new features are launched,” said Micha Risling, Chair of the HDBaseT Alliance’s Marketing Committee.
