Panasonic Bolsters TV line-up with its Largest OLED TV Model to Date at IFA 2017

•    Panasonic presents biggest OLED TV range with its largest ever model, the 77-inch EZ1000, available this autumn in stores across Europe

Berlin, Germany (30 August 2017) – Panasonic presents at this year’s IFA its biggest OLED TV range to date, spearheaded by its largest ever OLED screen, the stunning 77-inch EZ1000. Working closely with Hollywood and experienced Technics audio engineers, Panasonic continues to raise the bar when it comes to premium picture and sound quality in TV.

“More and more consumers are demanding a true home cinema experience not only with top-of-the-range picture quality but also with correspondingly large screens,” says Yasushi Murayama, head of Panasonic’s European TV business. “We are therefore extremely proud to introduce our latest, top-of-the-range 77-inch OLED TV model to the current line-up from this autumn.”

Designed to complement Panasonic’s new line-up of 4K Pro Ultra HD OLED TVs, the latest generation of LED models feature next-generation processing, enhanced LED lighting and the latest LCD panels. Panasonic now offers consumers exceptional HDR picture quality throughout the entire 4K range.

EZ1000 and EZ950 4K Pro HDR OLED TVs set new TV Reference Levels in 2017
Panasonic has combined the most accurate and advanced video processor ever with the unrivalled contrast and colour proficiency of the latest OLED screen technology, bringing Hollywood directly to the home like never before. Powered by the new cutting-edge Studio Colour HCX2 chipset, with unprecedented black levels and the most accurate colours ever seen, the TVs boast extraordinarily stunning picture quality.

Top colorists, image scientists and engineers at Deluxe’s Company 3, EFILM, and Encore post-production companies worked with Panasonic to tune and test the 4K Pro EZ1000 and EZ950 OLED TVs. They have also approved the EZ1000 for use as a client reference monitor for color grading sessions on blockbuster feature films and high-end television episodics across their facilities.

Furthermore, Technicolor, Hollywood’s leading technology innovator dedicated to bringing the best colour viewing experiences to audiences worldwide, worked closely with Panasonic to develop its new OLED technology. Senior theatrical colourist for Technicolor, Mike Sowa, says: “We cannot praise highly enough Panasonic’s ongoing commitment to improving the viewing experience of its OLED TVs.

“Collaborating with our expert team of colourists and colour scientists for their creative and technical input, Panasonic has worked hard to achieve outstanding picture quality with the very best colour precision and range. We are delighted to team up with a company that shares our passion for the importance of high quality colour when delivering digital life experiences and telling engaging stories.”

Proving just how impressive the EZ1000 and EZ950 are, both models have received full, independent 4K Certification from a renowned independent quality assurance group, THX – one of the highest accolades for picture quality and accuracy in TVs.

The EZ1000 and EZ950 OLED TVs both meet the stringent standards of the UHD Alliance’s highest ‘Ultra HD Premium’ specifications, updated for 2017*. The inter-industry UHD Alliance (UHDA) group – which includes leading film studios, consumer electronics manufacturers, content distributors and technology companies – has given the TVs this accolade following a rigorous review looking at everything from resolution and high dynamic range (HDR) performance to image precision and Wide Colour Gamut (WCG).

Panasonic hasn’t just focused on achieving stunning pictures for the EZ1000.
Aiming to bring the best sound to the OLED TV, the EZ1000 is also equipped with the Dynamic Blade Speaker. Tuned by the engineers of the company’s acclaimed audio brand, Technics, it features a deceptively slim audio system with 14 multiple speaker units (eight woofers, four squawkers and two tweeters, plus a quad passive radiator to boost bass).

* Models certified are 77EZ1000, 65EZ1000, 65EZ950 and 55EZ950.
