CyberLink Previews 3D Technologies at Computex 2010

CyberLink Corp. announced it will showcase a number of 3D applications that will be released throughout 2010 at the coming Computex show in Taipei.

According to the statement, “CyberLink will be offering a wide range of fascinating 3D entertainment on PCs,” said Alice H. Chang, CEO of CyberLink. “These applications include 3D videos and movies, 3D photos and slideshows as well as fun interactive 3D augmented reality for webcams. Our goal is to upgrade all the media experiences to 3D.” The showcase will include:

Blu-ray 3D Movie Playback: CyberLink’s 3D decoding engine is optimized with the latest CPU/GPU acceleration to deliver smooth 3D visuals. It is also compatible with the full range of 3D hardware on the market, including glasses, and graphics cards available in the market.

2D-to-3D Conversion: Featuring TrueTheater 3D technology, PowerDVD converts 2D movies into a 3D experience. It is also optimized to playback DVDs and video files in 3D.

3D Augmented Reality: With CyberLink’s technology, consumers can animate 3D objects in front of the webcam to create video effects.

3D Photo Slideshows: CyberLink’s latest technology is capable of transforming a series of 2D photos into an animated 3D slideshow.

3D Applications for Webcams: With dual webcams, CyberLink’s software adds 3D interactive effects to webcam photos and videos.

3D Home videos: With CyberLink’s 3D technology, consumers will soon be able to create 3D home videos from their existing 2D recordings.
