Cinedigm Digital Cinema Corp. announced that it will bring the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final between Netherlands and Spain to a select group of Cinedigm Certified theatres in the United States and Canada.
According to the statement, the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final takes place on July 11, 2010, at 2:30pm EDT and will be broadcast live in 3D from Johannesburg, South Africa. Following Cinedigm’s most recent live 3D sporting events, such as the NCAA Men’s Final Four, NBA All-Star Saturday Night and the BCS College Championship, soccer fans in the United States and Canada now have the opportunity to cheer on Spain and the Netherlands as they do battle live in 3D on fifty-foot cinema screens.
“In what is shaping up to be a classic World Cup final, we are thrilled to bring such an incredible cinema experience to soccer fans here in North America,” said Jonathan Dern, president of Cinedigm Entertainment Group. “Whether it is Spain or the Netherlands who are crowned champions of the world this Sunday, there is no doubt that catching the action in LIVE 3D will only intensify the viewing experience for what will be an epic afternoon of soccer.”
The following theatres will be showing the FIFA World Cup Championship match live in 3D at the local U.S. times as follows: Pacific 11:30am, Mountain 12:30pm, Central 1:30 pm and Eastern 2:30 pm.
