Germany Preparing for 3D Home Entertainment

GfK Retail and Technology announced that between March and June 2010 in Germany, roughly 18,000 3D TV sets were sold and around 17,000 matching 3D glasses.

According to the statement, compared to total sales of flat-TVs in this period, this represents less than 1%, but Blu-ray 3D players already account for 17% of the Blu-ray player turnover in June 2010. For Blu-ray home cinema, this share is 15%. Additionally, in June 2010, more than 6,000 3D projectors were sold, which equates to 13% of total projector sales.
