Panasonic Launches New CHES Series High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet
Berlin, Germany (September 1, 2010) – Panasonic is pleased to announce that it will launch a new CHES series HDMI Cable, the perfect choice for the latest digital format connection such as Full HD 3D. The cable complies with new features incorporated in the last HDMI Specification Version 1.4, such as HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC), Audio Return Channel (ARC), Full HD 3D, 4k x 2k resolution. In both black and white colors, the 1.5m, 3.0m and 5.0m in length cables will be available from July 2010.
Ethernet Connection
Networking capability with Ethernet connectivity is the one of the major advancements in HDMI Ver. 1.4 specification. HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC) enables future IP-based applications such as broadband-connected television.
By single connection with HDMI with Ethernet, it can provide internet connection sharing with another HEC enabled devices such as Digital Video Recorders or future gaming consoles. Also, device-to-device content distribution through home HEC enabled network will be possible in the future. This Ethernet connectivity can be realized only when using HDMI with Ethernet cables; the current normal HDMI cables are not ready for it. However the HDMI with Ethernet is totally back-ward compatible, it can be used with all the current legacy HDMI enabled hardware existing now in the industry.
High Speed
From now, more advanced digital image and sound formats will be available, such as Full HD 3D, 4k x 2k resolution or Deep Colors. These innovative HD sources demand an extremely high data transfer speed which Panasonic’s new CHES series can offer.
All Panasonic HDMI cables are certified for High Speed Category defined by HDMI Licensing, LLC, assuring data transfer speed over 10.2Gbps. To add further appeal, the new CHES series has been improved even further with its advanced noise shielding characteristics. As a leading developer of home digital equipment, it comes to Panasonic’s attention that beside data transfer speed, noise shielding is a very important factor for the performance of HDMI cable. For those cutting edge digital devices such as ready for Full HD 3D, 4k x 2k, even small noise emissions from a cable can harm their picture / sound quality by affecting their highly integrated circuit.
Adding to the existing triple layers shielded cable line, the CHES has been implemented with a zinc dye cast plug case, which seamlessly covers cable ends and block noise leakage. As a result, the noise emission has been minimized to the level of 14dB buffer from FCC regulation.
With the new CHES cables, one can enjoy detailed image and sound from the latest digital formats without any noise interference. It is the genuine Panasonic cable for future entertainment including Full HD 3D.
The short plug size makes the required space for the connection behind equipment minimal.
Its gold plated connector resists corrosion and ensures an optimum connection for maximum signal transfer.
As the leading developer of home digital entertainment, Panasonic remains committed to offer a total solution, from hardware to the cable, to connect them all.
