Acer, the number two PC provider in Canada,1 today announces the newest model in its home entertainment projector line for customers in Canada, the Acer® H6500. Acer’s latest DLP projector offers 1080p Full HD projection with exceptional colour fidelity for $899.99 CAD.
It can display true 24fps 1080p video content from a Blu-ray Disc (BD) player via its HDMI interface, making it the perfect projector for creating a realistic cinematic experience. Home theatre enthusiasts can enjoy games, video, photos and movies in an image projection of up to 300 inches diagonally — a size that’s much bigger than what’s available to consumers with today’s TV technologies.
The Acer® H6500 provides crisp, rich visuals with brightness up to 2,100 ANSI lumens. Leveraging Acer’s eColor Boost II+ technology and wall-colour compensation, the Acer® H6500 makes images pop on any surface. Plus, ColorSafe II prevents colour decay by providing picture integrity even with prolonged use. Images are displayed in the native 16:9 aspect ratio, which can be adjusted to 4:3. The 10,000:1 contrast ratio means deeper darks and brighter whites, while maintaining crisp images.
“The Acer® H6500 projector is an excellent choice for the home with its ability to showcase full HD 1080p video and superior colour performance,” said Chris White, senior director of product marketing, Acer. “With this projector, consumers can enjoy film quality viewing with a giant 300-inch projected image, which makes watching a movie at home close to enjoying it in a commercial theatre. Plus, the projector is easy to set up and use and available at an affordable price.”
The Acer® H6500 features a sleek, intuitive design with a control pad conveniently located on top. An aesthetically-pleasing look and feel includes a white and gray matte finish and rounded contours. It’s also easy to transport, weighing just 2.5 kilograms and measuring 269mm (L) by 206mm (W) by 84mm (H).
A range of inputs provide users with several options for connectivity, including composite, component, D-Sub and two HDMI. Customers can use the dual HDMI ports to connect the projector to Blu-ray players and gaming consoles, as well as a PC.
Simple Set Up; Easy to Use
Handy utilities make set up easy. With the installation menu, signal input from a notebook is no longer required to enable the on-screen display (OSD) menu, making projector installation on the ceiling quicker and easier.
The IR remote control features the Acer Empowering Technology key, which provides instant access to all Acer projector technologies that include ePower Management, eTimer Management, eView Management and eOpening Management. With Acer eView Management, adjusting projector settings to suit any environment and content is fast. eOpening Management allows users to easily create a customized start-up screen for their projector, which can include favourite photos.
This model also comes with Acer SmartFormat Technology, which supports comprehensive wide-format PC signals, so there is no need to change the resolution of a wide-format notebook and wrestle with “signal not supported” issues.
An Instant Resume feature enables the projector to resume projection immediately after it has been turned off. The power can be turned on and off at any time during the two-minute shutdown process. There’s no need to wait for the device to cool off before resuming projection.
Long Lamp Life – Power Savings
The Acer® H6500’s long lamp life reduces replacement costs and ensures long-term, dependable projector use. It provides up to 3,500 hours of standard lamp life, 5,000 hours in ECO mode and as long as 6,000 hours in ExtremeECO mode.2 With ExtremeECO, the power consumption of the projector can be reduced up to 70 percent and the lamp life can be extended as well. The projector will automatically enter ExtremeECO mode for saving power if there is no signal input.
