MOG Partners with Leading IP Connected Telematics Platform Providers
Airbiquity and Tweddle Group Tap Into MOG API’s for Widespread Distribution
BERKELEY, Calif., June 7, 2011 — MOG, the Web’s best on-demand music listening service, today announced partnerships with two major IP connected telematics platform providers including Airbiquity, a global leader in connected vehicle services, and Tweddle Group, provider of the Entune Multimedia System that will launch on select Toyota vehicles later this year. As part of the MOG Fusion program (http://fusion.mog.com/), MOG is working with these companies to build access to MOG into their platforms, enabling auto manufacturers to easily offer the ultimate in-car listening experience to their customers.
The partnerships announced today are part of MOG’s overall strategy to connect the MOG app to external platforms for mass consumption and give subscribers access to the service in all of the places they listen to music. MOG is working closely with a wide variety of consumer electronic (CE) and automotive partners, allowing them to tap into MOG’s vast catalog of music, unmatched discovery capabilities, and high-quality audio playback. The technical collaborations with Airbiquity and Tweddle Group will allow customers to connect their phone to the car’s telematics system and fully access the MOG service from the in dash display. Drivers will now be able to experience full on-demand music in the car in the same way they access radio and satellite radio. The first cars with MOG integrated on these platforms are expected to arrive on the market by the end of 2011.
“The future of music is all about access, specifically being built into car dashboards where people do the majority of their music consumption,” said David Hyman, CEO and founder of MOG. “Our partnership with these top-tier automotive platform providers are significant as they represent a win win for both manufacturers and consumers. For manufacturers, this integration makes it easy to add IP connected apps to head units, and for consumers, they will soon have a wide selection of automotive manufacturers and car models that offer access to unlimited, uninterrupted on-demand music via MOG in the car.”
In January 2011 MOG unveiled MOG Fusion (http://fusion.mog.com/), an API program for CE and automotive manufacturers, with launch partner Visteon Corporation, a global automotive supplier that will integrate MOG into future products. MOG is also working with select automotive companies, such as BMW Group’s MINI USA, to integrate their SDK’s into the MOG app. MOG’s partnership with MINI USA is the first ever in-car integration for on-demand music. The MOG integration will be available later this year in MINI USA and BMW vehicles equipped with the MINI connected and BMW Apps systems.
MOG continues to work with select partners that are interested in tapping in to MOG Fusion to integrate MOG access into future products and platforms. For more information about MOG Fusion, please visit http://fusion.mog.com/.
