ITRI Unveils Flexible and 3D Display Technologies

The Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) announced its new FlexUPD and i2/3DW visual display technologies. According to the statement, FlexUPD allows for the commercialization of paper-thin, low-cost flexible flat screens for electronic products and i2/3DW enables 2D and 3D information to be simultaneously displayed on the same screen.

National Ships Automotive Entertainment Chipset with HDCP

National Semiconductor Corp. announced its FPD-Link III Ser/Des chipset with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) for automotive entertainment systems. According to the statement, National’s FPD-Link III chipset supports in-car distribution of protected video and audio content, such as Blu-ray Disc (BD) movies, at up to 720p resolution.
