Cogeco Cable announced it will to offer, free of charge to its Digital TV customers in Québec and Ontario, the two final matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa in 3D after signing an agreement with CBC.
According to the statement, the agreement also allows Cogeco Cable to offer to its customers CBC’s coverage of the 64 matches of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa on Cogeco On Demand, also free of charge, starting June 12.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is a much anticipated event and this type of content is tailored for 3D TV. They can enjoy all the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa excitement right at home without worrying about time differences,” says Ron Perrotta, Vice-President, Marketing and Strategic Planning at Cogeco Cable.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa matches will be held in South Africa from June 11 to July 11. The third place final on July 10 and the first place final on July 11 will also be offered in 3D (in English only) on channel 464 in Ontario and 544 in Quebec to all Cogeco customers with an HD terminal, a 3DTV and 3D glasses. In addition, CBC’s coverage of all games will be offered free of charge over Cogeco On Demand 24 hours after live broadcast for a one-month period.
