Deutsche Telekom announced that, in cooperation with Constantin Media, PLAZAMEDIA and SPORT1, it will present the opening match of the 2010 IIHF world championships in 3D.
According to the statement, on Friday May 7, all “LIGA total! HD” customers can watch the match between the USA and the hosts, Germany, in 3D and in high-definition quality on their own 3D TV sets.
“By showing the opening match in 3D, we are proving that our Entertain platform will be safe in the future. Every one of our media receivers can process the 3D signal in HD quality”, says Christian P. Illek, the Marketing Director of Telekom Germany. “Thanks to our digital IPTV infrastructure, we are also able to use new technologies at short notice.”
“The TV viewers will remember the opening match in three dimensions. This innovative and expensive broadcast of a global sporting event positions us today as a supplier of pioneering production technologies”, says Bernhard Burgener, CEO of Constantin Media.
The opening match of the 2010 IIHF world championships is being broadcast on the LIGA total! Channel 319. All HD subscribers can watch the match at no extra charge and without any commercials.
