Test center makes it easier for manufacturers to ensure a premium audio entertainment experience for consumers

China, November 25, 2013-iQIYI, a subsidiary of Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU), and one of the largest Internet and mobile video service providers in China, and Dolby Laboratories, Inc. (NYSE: DLB) today announced the first free cloud-based testing center for over-the-top (OTT) enabled television and set-top boxes with Dolby® Digital Plus™ audio in the China market.

“iQIYI shares our passion for delivering high-quality entertainment experiences to consumers,” said Mike Chao, Managing Director, Greater China, Dolby Laboratories. “And they are helping us make it easier than ever for our licensees to test their devices and make sure they are delivering the best possible audio through Dolby Digital Plus.”

With the emergence of OTT services worldwide, TV manufacturers are also delivering content services to consumers by collaborating with video service providers such as iQIYI. Dolby’s work with iQIYI will provide Dolby licensees-TV manufacturers and chipset providers-with access to a cloud-based solution that makes it easier to test Dolby enabled technologies and 4K video content, to ensure that they are working with devices in China.

Duan Youqiao, Vice President, iQIYI, said, “Dolby is providing quality audio solutions to consumers. As a video company with strong technology genes, iQIYI shares Dolby’s emphasis on innovating and working with quality companies to elevate the visual and audio experience of consumers. Together, we aim to help manufacturers ensure that iQIYI multiscreen devices provide a premium audio experience to consumers.”
