DVD6C Settles Royalty Dispute with Duplium

The DVD6C Licensing Group (DVD6C) announced that its authorized licensor, Toshiba Corporation, has reached a settlement of its arbitration claim for unpaid royalties allegedly due from Duplium Corp. (Canada) under the DVD6C patent license.

According to the statement, Toshiba is continuing to pursue arbitration proceedings against Coby Electronics Co., Ltd. (China) and Tonic Digital Products Limited (Hong Kong) to collect royalties allegedly due under their DVD6C patent licenses.

As a matter of background, the DVD6C Licensing Group (DVD6C) is a patent pool formed by nine developers of DVD technology including Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, Panasonic, Samsung, Sanyo Electric, Sharp, Toshiba, JVC and Time Warner.
