Universal DTAs with Guide Offers Option For Cable Operators Transitioning Subscribers to All Digital

DENVER, Colo., and SANTA CLARA, Calif., August 22, 2012 – Evolution Digital, a pioneer in bringing DTAs to the US cable industry, and Rovi Corporation (NASDAQ: ROVI) today announced that they will be working together to bring the popular experience of Rovi Guides to Evolution’s Universal Digital Transport Adapters (uDTAs). Evolutions’ uDTA paired with Rovi DTA Guide, offers cable operators ability to provide their subscribers user friendly method of navigating through the hundreds of SD and HD channels offered on these one-way devices.

In the ongoing transition towards all-digital networks, DTAs serve as a signal converter, enabling analog TVs to receive the digital broadcast signals. Evolution’s uDTA, featuring Rovi DTA Guide will include the ability to find out what’s on TV with 24 hours TV listing data and descriptive program information, set parental controls, tune to a channel directly from the grid, in both English and Spanish. The solution enables cable operators to advance their service experience and offer enhanced with guide capability across their entire subscriber footprint.

“The ability to find the TV shows you want to watch can greatly influence consumer satisfaction with their cable TV experience. This fundamental functionality should not be limited to advanced devices,” said Bob Shallow, SVP of sales and marketing at Rovi. “We’re working with Evolution to add value to uDTAs in the eyes of subscribers, so that MSOs can deliver a simple device that provides advanced functionality beyond a signal converter.”

“Our philosophy is that innovative services and content drive customer satisfaction. Subscribers should not be deprived of fundamental applications like guide,” said Brent Smith, President of Evolution Digital. “We’re pleased to be working with Rovi, whom we consider to be the undisputed leader in the field of program guides, to deliver more options to our customers and the end consumer.”
