Sony DADC issued a statement confirming that its UK Distribution Centre in Enfield has been damaged by a fire, which was reported around 11:30 PM on August 8, 2011.

According to the release, there have been no injuries to employees and the fire is under control but still smouldering, thus preventing anyone from entering the facility. “We are unable to confirm the extent of the damage or the cause until the fire is fully extinguished and a full investigation can be carried out by authorities.”

Published reports suggest that the warehouse was set ablaze during the latest wave of rioting to sweep London.
