Fujitsu to Debut IP-9610 Digital Media Encoder at the 2011 NAB Show
Latest Fujitsu media solution delivers superior performance and operational benefits in 10 Bit 4:2:2, 1080P and 3D content contribution and distribution
2011 NAB Show
FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif.–Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc., a leading provider of IT-based business solutions, including advanced technology products, biometric security, and digital media solutions, today announced the launch of the Fujitsu IP-9610. A scalable and highly flexible next-generation encoder, digital media processor and networking platform, the IP-9610 is optimized to meet growing demand for 10 bit 4:2:2 encoding and advanced H.264/Advanced Video Coding (AVC) in support of all broadcasting formats, including 1080P and “stereoscopic” 3D television content. Fujitsu’s full line of industry-leading encoding/decoding technologies will be on display in the company’s booth, SU7521, at the 2011 NAB Show, taking place April 9-14, 2011 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Fujitsu media solutions are well known for delivering industry-leading reliability, ease of use, low latency and high picture fidelity while reducing the costs associated with HD video transport and IP streaming applications,” said Kunio Konishi, director of product management, media solutions, Fujitsu Frontech North America Inc. “The IP-9610, the newest addition to our IP-9600 series, delivers unprecedented value in terms of compression performance, efficiency and functionality, empowering today’s newsgathering and broadcasting organizations to meet the most advanced MPEG-4 AVC technology requirements while achieving rapid return on investment.”
The Fujitsu IP-9610 features a flexible, modular architecture, 10 bit 4:2:2 compression and advanced region-of-interest (ROI) video processing. The IP-9610, like all encoders in the IP-9600 series, is also integrated with high-performance application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) technology, enabling users to customize their video content acquisition, processing and distribution applications to meet any cost and performance requirements. The integration of an advanced ASIC core reaffirms Fujitsu’s commitment to offering superior technology with low latency and the highest-possible video and audio fidelity at price points that meet a wide range of budget requirements.
The IP-9610 joins an industry-leading family of encoding technologies that includes: the IP-9500 high-performance, high definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) H.264 (AVC) 4:2:2/4:2:0 contribution encoder; the cost-efficient IP-9400 HD/SD 4:2:0 encoder specifically designed for electronic news gathering (ENG) and satellite news gathering (SNG) operations; and the IP-900 HD/SD encoder/decoder for efficient digital content transmission in AVC 4:2:0 format with robust FEC/ARQ technology, suitable for less-than-perfect, restricted-bandwidth IP networks.
