Major League Gaming (MLG) announced that it will combine its Pro Circuit competition and the MLG Doritos Pro Gaming Combine to create new competitions for the 2010 season’s two remaining events.
According to the statement, the DC MLG Doritos Combine Circuit amateur competition will be MLG’s first competitive event to feature the recently launched Halo: Reach on the Xbox 360. The Pro Circuit competition will keep Halo 3 as the headline title until the end of the 2010 season after which it will be replaced by Halo: Reach.

NEW YORK, Sept. 23 — Major League Gaming (MLG), the world’s largest professional video game league, today announced it will combine its Pro Circuit competition and the MLG Doritos Pro Gaming Combine to create massive spectacular competitions for the 2010 season’s two remaining events. MLG’s next live event will be held in Washington, DC October 15 – 17, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center.
“The competition for supremacy is dramatically intensifying on both the pro and amateur levels,” said Sundance DiGiovanni, CEO of Major League Gaming. “By combining both competitive events, we’ll be assembling the best players in the world and a huge cadre of passionate fans under one roof to create MLG’s most intense and exhilarating event yet.”

More than 3000 competitors and spectators from all over the US are expected for the October 15-17 event in Washington DC. This will be the final opportunity for professionals to move up the ladder to capture a good rank for the national Pro Circuit Championships in Dallas, TX November 5-7. This is also the final chance for amateurs to earn a space to play against the professionals at the national championship.
Halo Reach Enters The Fray
The DC MLG Doritos Combine Circuit amateur competition will be MLG’s first competitive event to feature the recently launched and highly anticipated Halo Reach on the Xbox 360. The Pro Circuit competition will keep Halo 3 as the headline title until the end of the 2010 season after which it will be replaced by Halo Reach. Pro and amateur enthusiasts will get their final chance to test their competitive skills on this featured title at DC and the national finals in Dallas.
Also featured on the Pro Circuit is Tekken 6™, the fast-paced fighting game that demands immense technical skill, World of Warcraft, where 16 of the top rated international 3v3 Arena teams will fight it out for supremacy and Super Smash Bros.® Brawl which regularly attracts a passionately devoted ‘Smasher’ fan base to MLG’s Pro circuit live events. Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty, the military science fiction game, also makes its second showing on the Pro Circuit after a stellar sell out debut at the Raleigh Pro Circuit event.
Spectators at the DC event will get the chance to see world-class competitive gaming up close, interact with fan favorites during “Play-a-Pro” matches, put their own skills to the test in exhibition matches, participate in merchandise giveaways and be in the audience for MLGPro.com’s daily stage broadcasts throughout the weekend.
