LONG BEACH, Calif.– Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. announces the appointment of Mr. Junichi Naito as its new president and COO, effective May, 2011. Mr. Naito will lead Pioneer’s business operations for branded products in the U.S. region, including car electronics, home electronics, DJ and computer drive products.
“With his many years of international business and information technology experience, Junichi Naito is uniquely prepared to move our U.S. branded business forward during a time of change and opportunity for both Pioneer and the consumer electronics industry,” said Sam Ohdate, president of the Pioneer Americas group of companies.
In addition to leading Pioneer’s current operations in the U.S. market, Mr. Naito’s objective is to further expand the company’s business opportunities by overseeing the introduction of innovative new products that embrace new consumer behaviors, such as the increasing use of smartphones and tablet computers in audio and video systems.
Since joining Pioneer in 1984, Mr. Naito has headed sales operations in other regions of the world, including Malaysia for six years and Hong Kong for five years. Before these assignments, he was responsible for establishing IT systems and communication networks for Pioneer subsidiaries in the Middle East, South America and other regions. This experience gives him a unique understanding of the vital role information technology plays in the consumer electronics industry.
