Kodak and Rimage Join Forces in Export Business Partnership

Minneapolis, MN (March 14, 1996) — Eastman Kodak Company, Rochester, New York, and Rimage Corporation, Minneapolis, Minnesota, have entered into an Export Business Agreement where Rimage will function as a reseller for the Kodak Disc Transporter and PCD600 Writer throughout Europe. Under this arrangement, announced today at CeBit in Hanover, Germany, Rimage will be responsible for marketing and customer support activities. Administration of this agreement will be handled through Rimage’s European operations in Dietzenbach, Germany.

According to Carl Bothner, Kodak’s Worldwide Product Line Manager for Production Systems, “Rimage is a great partner for this particular export business agreement. Rimage, as a long-term strategic partner, was selected because the company meets our high standard for customer support and has an established European network. Rimage is also a very good customer for the Disc Transporter, so they are familiar with our product, the marketplace and our strategic goals.”

Rimage manufactures and markets software production and data publishing systems for industries where diskette and CD-R media is necessary for distribution or storage. The unique Rimage CD-R Automated Publishing System combines a specially-configured Kodak Disc Transporter with the Rimage in-line CD-R Printer option. This system automates the process of recording unique information on CD-R discs complete with custom printing for easy identification.

“This Export Business Agreement with Kodak is a terrific fit for both companies,” stated Michael Ferguson, Strategic Account Manager for Eastman Kodak. Mac McCorkle, Vice President of Marketing for Rimage, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Rimage knows the Disc Transporter very well and we will be able to provide a high level of marketing and product support for Kodak. Plus, we have the opportunity to further introduce our CD-R Automated Publishing System to new markets through the Kodak VAR’s.”

Minneapolis-based Rimage was founded in 1987 and has service, sales and manufacturing facilities in Boulder, CO, Mountain View, CA, Dietzenbach, Germany and a new office in Singapore. Among the company’s products are digital publishing systems, diskette and CD-ROM duplication systems for unique and large quantity applications, finishing equipment, CD-ROM production systems and tape duplication systems.
