My Eye Media announced that it has completed its 5,000th evaluation of digital media content destined for mobile devices, web portals, Video on Demand and other digital entertainment platforms.
According to the statement, My Eye Media is an industry leader in postproduction technical services and a pioneering specialist in providing unbiased clinical QC analysis to film studios and independent content producers.
“We’re proud to say that there is no other independent, third-party quality control company more experienced in the evaluation of digital media content than My Eye Media. In fact, no one even comes close,” the company’s founder and CEO Michael Kadenacy said. “We’ve been performing this type of work under our roof for studios, post houses and indie content producers for more than 2 1/2 years.”
My Eye Media developed Codecqual as its proprietary process for performing technical evaluation of all forms of digital content stored or distributed in file form. This includes everything from download-to-own to the very highest source mezzanine files — and all transcodes in between.
According to My Eye Media CTO Steve Waugh, the company evaluates file types that include archival, mezzanine, VOD and DTO, encoded using codecs such as ProRes 422, ProRes 4444, MPEG 2, H.264, JPEG2K, DNxHD and XDCAM, to name just a few.
“Major studio clientele and postproduction labs rely on us to ensure the highest quality of their digitally encoded content,” Waugh said. “With our high-bandwidth fiber internet connection and digital infrastructure, we can evaluate digital content and deliver it to any location in the world efficiently and rapidly.
To meet customer demand, My Eye Media is doubling its facility’s footprint to a total of 12,000 square feet in the heart of the postproduction industry in Southern California. Kadenacy said the additional space will enable the company to expand its already-robust infrastructure and roll out additional product lines in the months ahead.
