NCR Brings DVD Kiosks to Texas

NCR Corporation announced that it will install its BLOCKBUSTER Express-branded DVD-rental kiosks in Brookshire Grocery stores, a more than 150-location grocery store chain located in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Mississippi.

According to the statement, NCR began deploying BLOCKBUSTER Express kiosks in Brookshire Grocery in 2009, with about 100 kiosks installed at the chain at the end of the year. NCR anticipates full deployment within the first three months of 2010.

“For more than 80 years, Brookshire Grocery has strived to give our customers a great shopping experience. Through our new relationship with NCR, we are able to give our customers the convenience and savings associated with BLOCKBUSTER Express DVD rentals,” said Don Gaynier, Brookshire Grocery Company. “We considered many of the leading DVD kiosk providers, and we were most impressed with NCR’s rapid growth in the space.”

“By partnering with NCR, Brookshire Grocery is able to provide a unique customer experience – convenient DVD rentals at an affordable price,” said Alex Camara, vice president and general manager of NCR Entertainment. “We have invested heavily in building out our DVD kiosk network, and we’re pleased to bring the BLOCKBUSTER Express brand back home to Texas.”
