Announcement of the release of M.2 2230 gaming SSD G Series ME

AUGUST 9, 2024 — Nextorage Corporation (CEO: Honda Katsuyuki, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) is pleased to announce that it will release its new gaming SSD, the G Series ME, on August 9, 2024.

The G Series ME is an M.2 2230 SSD that is compatible with compact gaming PCs, tablet PCs, etc. It is a new series that combines the high speed performance of PCIe® 4.0 with the stability of DRAM-less power saving, making it suitable for gaming applications with frequent reads.

The world’s fastest* M.2 2230 SSD with high speed and stability
The M.2 2230 SSD is used in mobile gaming devices and tablet PCs, and is designed to achieve the world’s fastest* transfer speeds by pursuing high speed and stability. It also uses DRAM-less technology, and the latest controller and 3D TLC NAND flash improve speed while saving power. It also suppresses temperature rise and creates a comfortable gaming environment.

The world’s fastest* read speed of up to 7,400 MB/s [1]
Maximum sequential read speed of 7,400 MB/s [1] is achieved. In MMORPGs and open world games that load huge maps in real time, it is effective in speeding up game startup and shortening loading times when entering dungeons.
*For M.2 2230 PCIe® 4.0 NVMe TM SSDs. According to Nextorage research as of August 2024.

Reliable and stable performance
3D TLC is used for the NAND flash memory. It achieves high reliability and durability. In addition, the power saving due to the DRAM-less design suppresses temperature rise and suppresses the occurrence of thermal throttling. This provides stable performance even with long-term use. Combined with various functions that enable high-speed processing, it maximizes the performance of your gaming PC and provides a more comfortable gaming environment.

Reduces lag and slowdowns
With a random read performance of up to 750,000 IOPS, it can powerfully process even high-load graphic rendering. It reduces inconveniences of gameplay such as stuttering on the screen and slowdowns, allowing you to experience a smooth, well-paced gameplay.

Direct Storage Support for Shortened Game Data Loading TimeSupports
Direct Storage, which passes game data directly to the GPU and reduces CPU load. This shortens the loading time of games that access large amounts of data, enabling smooth gameplay. In addition, the reduced CPU usage makes multitasking more comfortable.

Supports Host Memory Buffer (HMB) technology to improve random access performance
By using part of the host device’s main memory to cache the address translation table, high speed is ensured for DRAM-less SSDs.

Reliable durability

Large-capacity Dynamic SLC Cache
Dynamic SLC cache technology accelerates frequent access and contributes to a longer lifespan of TLC.

Wear Leveling Function
By evenly distributing write and erase operations across memory blocks, it prevents over-utilization of any particular area. The unique advanced wear leveling algorithm efficiently maximizes the lifespan of NAND Flash.

Error correction algorithm (LDPC)
The SSD controller is equipped with a highly accurate error correction algorithm called LDPC (Low Density Parity Check), which uses advanced detection and correction technology for random bit errors that occur during reading to protect data from corruption.

Mobile gaming PC operation confirmed
We have tested each mobile gaming PC at Nextorage. We will update the list of devices that have been tested regularly.

Utility software for Nextorage SSDs: SSD Suite for Nextorage
As a purchase bonus, you can download “SSD Suite for Nextorage”, a utility software for Nextorage SSDs that manages the transfer of OS and data and the status of SSDs, from our website. This software product allows you to easily create clones to support the transfer of OS and data from your SSD, check the health status of the SSD, delete data, update firmware, and more.

*Downloads are scheduled to start around August 23, 2024.
