Nintendo Co. Ltd. announced it will launch its Nintendo 3DS portable game system during its fiscal year ending March 2011.
According to the statement, the 3DS (provisionally name) will display games in 3D without users wearing special glasses. Additionally, the unit will replace the current Nintendo DS series, which has sold over 125 million units, as well as offer backward compatibility with Nintendo DS and DSi series software.
The company plans to release further details at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) to be held in June 15-17, 2010.
