Panasonic Releases New Ultra High Speed (UHS) Memory Cards
Berlin, Germany (29th August, 2012) – Panasonic has today announced the release of its newest range of Gold and Silver Series UHS (Ultra High Speed) memory cards. The new Gold Series Class 10 UHS-I cards have a maximum write speed of 45MB/s , an increase of 20MB/s compared to current SDU models.
Both new Gold and Silver Series cards offer long lasting data retention thanks to multi-level cell (MLC) flash memory and the “Proof 7” durability feature. The new Gold Series cards have a memory capacity ranging from 8 GB to 64 GB and the new Silver Series cards from 4 GB to 32 GB. Both will be globally launched from Q3 2012.
With its UHS-I Class 10 speed specifications, the new Gold Series is ideal for the high-end cameras and full HD video recording. Compared to the current SDU series, the new Gold Series can write data approximately 1.8 times faster , allowing photographers to achieve higher-speed continuous shooting. The series also offers stable writing performance with Class 10 speed specifications, ensuring highly-reliable 3D and full HD video recording.
The new Gold Series cards are also designed to be highly reliable and durable. The Smart Guard Protection provides both Power Failure Protection, to protect data from sudden power failure, and Writing Damage Protection, to minimise the defect risk caused by intensive writing. This Power Failure Protection was certified by TÜV Rheinland, after passing its power on-off test .
These cards are also equipped with the Proof 7 feature (water, shock, magnet, X-ray, electrostatic, temperature-proof, and built-in fuse) to withstand the severest of conditions.
Even if the internal destruction of the SD card occurs, the built-in fuse prevents overheating or ignition. The new cards adopt MLC flash memory, which is suitable for repetitive writing, and offer long lasting data retention.
With Class 10 speed specifications, the new Silver Series cards are ideal for mid-range digital cameras and full HD video recording. They are also designed to be highly reliable and durable, are suitable for repetitive writing, offer long lasting data retention and are also equipped with Proof 7 feature.
The new Gold Series cards (SDUB series) are now available in memory capacities of 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB, and the new Silver Series cards (SDRB series) in memory capacities of 4 GB, 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB.
