International 3D Society Names Panasonic Its Worldwide Educational Partner
LOS ANGELES–The International 3D Society announced today that Panasonic Corporation (NYSE:PC) will assume Co-chair of its Worldwide Education committee and become its official technology partner. In this capacity, Panasonic will provide 3D technology at instructional events produced by the International 3D Society in the USA, Europe, and Asia.
The purpose of the program is to establish a curriculum of technical and creative coursework for video industry professionals in key production markets around the globe, as 3D technology is rapidly advancing. The International 3D Society’s 3D University series has attracted over 700 professional participants in Los Angeles in its first nine weeks of the program.
The next 3D University class is Blu-ray Day on Saturday, November 6. The following month, on December 4, the 3D University will meet in Los Angeles for a program presented in association with the Producers Guild of America.
“Our primary mission is to provide education to 3D professionals. We thank Panasonic for their partnership which allows us to fulfill that commitment globally,” remarked Jim Chabin, President of the International 3D Society. Panasonic will provide technical support, demonstrations, and expertise in developing learning programs worldwide.
