tru2way Applications in the Spotlight
Panasonic is working with tru2way application developers including Related Content Database (RCDb) and Zodiac Interactive to help broaden the application space for tru2way products.
RCDb is demonstrating for the first time this week the live integration of Panasonic’s leading tru2way set-top box (STB) with the RCDb web services platform. This integration lays the foundation for bringing new consumer Internet experiences to the nation’s leading cable operators.
The combination of the Internet capabilities of the Panasonic STB and the RCDb network software platform enable a cable operator to integrate, deploy and manage popular consumer services from across the Web without the need for a browser, keyboard or mouse on the consumer device.
Zodiac Interactive will provide live demonstrations, utilizing Panasonic’s set-top boxes, of its new PowerUp AMS, the world’s first server-based offering to deliver multi-screen, two-way connectivity between STBs and mobile Internet devices. This solution provides universal integration between Web and mobile services for multi-screen convergence in both today’s legacy, and tomorrow’s next-generation MSO STB environments.
New Remote User Interface Technology Debuts
Panasonic is introducing its JavaScript® based Remote User Interface (RUI) technology called AJAX-CE (Asynchronous JavaScript + XML CE). Panasonic is offering this technology to MSO’s to establish AJAX-CE as the baseline RUI technology to deliver a rich user interface with minimal integration effort. AJAX-CE can extend the MSO’s content and services to any device on the home network. AJAX-CE is the active agent deployed in millions of Panasonic Plasma HDTV’s and Blu-ray players that enable the VIERA CAST™ IPTV service and is a proven technology to deliver scalable cloud-based applications and services to lightweight consumer electronics clients.
