Panasonic Announces PF30 Series Professional Plasma Displays

New Full-HD, 3D-Ready Displays Are an Ideal Solution for Boardroom, Custom Home Theater, Digital Signage and Broadcast Applications
InfoComm 2011

ORLANDO, Fla.–Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for government and commercial enterprises, today announced the PF30 Series, the company’s latest 1080p Professional Plasma Displays. The displays are available in four models, the 42-inch TH-42PF30U, the 50-inch TH-50PF30U, the 60-inch TH-60PF30U and the 65-inch TH-65PF30U.

The PF30 Series come from a proven line of Panasonic Professional Plasma Displays known for exceptional image quality, energy efficiency, crisp, smooth playback of images, deep, rich blacks, and reliability. Now, besides delivering an outstanding 2D image, these displays offer 3D capability, offering customers more device application flexibility.

Customers can purchase a TY-3D30TRW IR Transmitter that connects to the Shutter Out terminal on the display, making 3D content viewable via Panasonic’s 3D glasses. This 3D capability also improves 2D images as well by achieving new levels of moving image resolution. Even fast-moving images are beautifully displayed to the finest detail without losing the high clarity of full HD.

This option will allow customers to use the screens for 3D imaging in professional applications such as custom home theater, 3D CAD proposals where 3D simulations could improve design precision or in healthcare where 3D can be applied to medical imaging. Furthermore, the PF30 Series models are excellent 2D monitors for applications such as digital signage solutions for restaurants, hotels, museums and higher education applications.

The PF30 Series features a slot architecture allowing for different terminal boards to be inserted, providing compatibility with various interfaces and facilitating its use in a wide array of professional operating environments. To support the expanding products and applications for 3D, two new function boards will also be targeted for release this fall. The TY-FB30DHD3D Terminal Board will support 3D video signals with individual left & right inputs over HD-SDI allowing the PF30 displays to easily interface to professional video equipment such as our AG-3DA1 Video Camera. The TY-FB30DD3D provides 3D input over DVI to support the numerous PC workstation applications for CAD, medical imaging and simulation.

The devices also feature LAN connectivity, permitting customers to use their existing network cabling and thus offsetting additional cable expenses.

“Flexibility is important to our customers. The new PF30 Series of professional plasma displays gives customers the ability to tailor the display to their needs while enhancing picture quality in both 2D and 3D,” said Rick Albert, VP Sales, Professional Display Solutions. “Additionally, they contain technology that is reliable and requires low maintenance, delivering both a high return on investment and lower total cost of ownership.”

The TH-42PF30U, TH-50PF30U, TH-60PF30U and TH-65PF30U are $1,450, $1,935, $3,200 and $5,580, (SLP) respectively.

The TY-#D30TRW IR Transmitter and TY-EW3D2 3D glasses cost $700 and $179.95, (SLP) respectively.

Panasonic’s new professional displays are being shown in the company’s InfoComm booth (3829) in Orlando, FL. InfoComm runs through Friday, June 17.
