PANASONIC VIERA TC-L50E60 NAMED AS 2013 DESIGN AND ENGINEERING AWARDS BEST OF INNOVATIONS HONOREE

LAS VEGAS, NV (January 7, 2013) – Panasonic today announced that it has been named an International CES Innovations 2013 Design and Engineering Awards Best of Innovations Honoree in the new Accessible and Universal Design Technologies product category for the Panasonic VIERA TC-L50E60. Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting-edge consumer electronics products across 29 product categories.

The Panasonic VIERA TC-L50E60 HDTV builds on its predecessors to provide outstanding picture quality, easy operation, accessible features, advanced networking, sustainability and a sleek design, all with the end-user top-of-mind. The E60’s accessible features include voice guidance, a function to navigate on-screen sentences, VIERA Connect, and Swipe & Share 2.0 capabilities.

The TC-L50E60 has been designed with an ultra narrow metallic bezel, giving the display a cutting-edge appearance and an elegant, overall design that harmonizes with virtually any room interior. The super resolution LED panel display provides crystal clear picture quality for a remarkable viewing experience.

The TC-L50E60 which refined its high trans-reflective property from previous models, to further improve picture transmission and increase brightness. The high-efficiency Advanced LED Backlight further boosts brightness while lowering power consumption. Also, 240 BLB (Back Light Blinking Technology) frame rate helps reduce motion blur and loss of detail in fast-moving images.

With 1080p resolution and dot noise reduction, the new VIERA TC-L50E60 not only has superior picture quality, but also comes with advanced features for high connectivity. Swipe and Share 2.0, which transfers media files from a Smartphone to the TV, and vice versa, 3 HDMI and 3 USB connectors, along with VIERA Connect, allow consumers to connect to applications through the Internet, so they can multi-task while watching TV. Voice guidance and built-in Wireless LAN further support the TV’s new design. The TC-L50E60 also features Eco Setting functions to minimize the power consumption of connected AV devices by using VIERA Link control. Panasonic’s new LED/LCD models are Energy Star 6.0 certified. (except the 50-inch class and 39-inch class VIERA B6 Series models).

Examples may include the first time various technologies are combined in a single product or dramatic enhancements to previous product designs.
