Sophisticated Philips Blu-ray Player brings movies to life and the cinematic experience to your home
August 30, 2012 — Berlin, Germany – For those that do not want to compromise when watching movies at home, Philips has developed the Philips BDP9700 Blu-ray player, its most advanced Blu-ray player yet. Offering best-in-class video and sound quality, you can enjoy a cinematic experience at home with picture playback four times as detailed as regular 1080p HD. The striking design of the product stands out thanks to its premium materials and stunning finish.
“With this Blu-ray player we wanted to create the ultimate home viewing experience”, said Rodney Chan, Audio and Video Entertainment, Philips. “We’ve included all the latest technologies, such as Qdeo video processing technology and Burr-brown DACs, and brought them together in a sleekly designed Blu-ray player that looks stylish in any contemporary home.”
With exceptional video quality, the Philips BDP9700 Blu-ray player comes with Qdeo video processing technology that produces the finest, most natural images with an enhanced sense of depth that transports you to the heart of action.
With HD 3D playback you can enjoy your favorite 3D films with cinematic and breathtaking image quality at home. If you want to give your existing film collection a 3D makeover you can, thanks to 2D to 3D conversion that will make any 2D film stand out in high definition 3D.
For the ultimate video quality in HD this Philips Blu-ray player is DivX Plus HD certified and offers HD playback for all DivX programs. Quad Full HD gives you a truly advanced picture quality that is four times more detailed compared to standard 1080p. This is possible thanks to the upscale of video and pictures to 2K x 4K from the traditional 1080p high definition, making the resolution twice as sharp and the picture quality twice as clear.
Best-in-class TI Burr-Brown digital-to-analogue converters produce rich realistic audio through 7.1 channels of Dolby TrueHD sound. This combines with multi-channel SACD playback to totally immerse you in highly detailed surround sound.
With a built-in fast wide-range WiFi2x2 connection and SmartTV you can watch your favorite shows through a selection of apps and video-on-demand services. The Philips SimplyShare app is a straight-forward streaming process that lets you enjoy your music, movies and photos directly from your tablet, smartphone and PC or Mac.
Finally, Dual HDMI outputs are included, one exclusively for audio and the other for video and audio. This allows you to connect to non-3D AV receivers and still enjoy 3D playback. Whist the audio HDMI output means when you connect to an AV receiver for a 5.1 or 7.1 audio system, the best possible sound quality will fill your home.
