Internationally Acclaimed PROMISE Pegasus Soars Into Next Generation of Storage With Intel SSDs
World’s First Thunderbolt™ Enabled Storage Device to Adopt Next Generation Intel SSDs — Exciting Advancement to Be Demoed at CES
MILPITAS, CA–(Jan 10, 2012) – PROMISE Technology, Inc., a leader in providing high-performance storage solutions for the rich media market and the leader in designing cutting-edge Thunderbolt™ enabled devices, today announced that the next generation R4 model of its innovative line of Pegasus storage solutions will support the Intel® Solid-State Drive (SSD) 320 Series (300 GB, 2.5 SATA 3Gb/s, 25nm, MLC). Pegasus is the world’s first Thunderbolt enabled hardware RAID storage solution providing lightning fast performance, in 4-bay or 6-bay direct attached storage configurations leveraging Intel’s revolutionary Thunderbolt Technology. This evolutionary storage solution demonstration supports creative professionals using either Mac OS or Windows based applications. The Windows driver for the Pegasus series will be generally available in Q2 2012.
The PROMISE Pegasus R4 RAID storage solution will be demoed in the Intel booth #7523 at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show, January 10-13, Las Vegas Nevada.
Designed from the ground up for the creative communities, the PROMISE Pegasus series offers superior speed and throughput in a form factor small enough for a desktop or on-location environment. The addition of the SSD option will provide media and entertainment professionals a new level of productivity and flexibility; allowing them to dramatically reduce post-production time for a vast majority of tasks.
Pegasus R4 with the new option of the Intel SSD 320 Series creates exponentially faster processing speeds for media and entertainment professionals. They now have major studio edit-suite performance in an on-location field production form factor. Built with 25 nanometer (nm) compute-quality Intel NAND Flash Memory, the Intel SSD 320 Series accelerates performance where it matters most.
“The addition of the SSD option to our award-winning line of Pegasus R4 storage is another example of our continued dedication to our customers and a testament to our ability to provide the fastest most flexible storage solutions in support of the rich media market,” Said Alice Chang, CMO, PROMISE Technology.
