Sony Music concludes Disc-Manufacturing-Contract with arvato Replication for Mexican Market
Music-Major and global media service provider expand cooperation
September 21, 2015 – Mexico City/Gütersloh. Sony Music Entertainment, one of the globally leading music companies, and arvato Replication have closed an exclusive long-term deal for the production and logistics of disc products for the Mexican market.
Sony Music is the market leader in the audio segment in Mexico and among the leading music companies worldwide with international as well as national superstars in their portfolio like Justin Timberlake, Pink, Shakira, Foo Fighters, Bob Dylan and Beyoncé. After an extensive call for tenders Sony Music decided in favor of arvato Replication’s integrated and comprehensive process solution. It covers all services from manufacturing the disc products including printed materials, fulfillment and delivering it to the retailers via arvato’s site in Mexico City. Represented since 1978 in the Central American country, arvato Replication provides integrated content services to leading providers of various entertainment divisions and has been working with the key customer in the European music segment for many years.
“We are delighted to expand the successful cooperation with Sony Music with this contract on this crucial market for Central America,” says Sven Deutschmann, CEO arvato Replication.
The contract was closed a few weeks ago in the context of some consolidation in the market. It comprises an important disc volume of national and global top titles from the current and the catalog business, which are being supplied by arvato to the wholesalers as well as the retail via the 360 degree service solution.
“With arvato Replication we opted for an experienced and well-established partner in the production of discs,” explains Gerhard Blum, senior vice president distribution and supply chain International at Sony Music Entertainment, in reference to the successful start of the cooperation of both global players on the Mexican market.
