STR3EM Begins Worldwide Deployment of Free UltraViolet-ready DRM Interoperability Server Software and SDK
STR3EM starts worldwide deployment of the DAGNUS XQR-1 authentication server software and SDK to provide universal access consumer monitoring of multi-vendor protected digital products and services.
New York, NY — April 28, 2011 — STR3EM announces a new addition to their line of universal-access tools with the launch of the DAGNUS Cross Query Referencing (XQR) server software, providing a free and flexible DRM interoperability solution for developers building universal-access digital products and services.
DAGNUS is the name of the authentication server component used as a consumer monitor and connector between the KodeKey™ Rights Locker and vendor applications facilitating unit-based B2C and B2B digital commerce. XQR-1 is built with STR3EM’s stable-version 2.3 Java codebase and distributed as a WAR application for Apache’s Tomcat 7 web server and as ami-d2d12dbb (64-bit Windows Server 2008 R2 image) through Amazon’s EC2 cloud computing service. The company’s objective is to give content owners a way to control digital wholesale units sold to vendors reselling access rights to consumers to match the accountability of physical product distribution. A software development kit is provided for content providers to customize and enhance the root of XQR-1 to meet the needs of diverse development situations.
XQR-1 works exclusively with the KodeKey digital token, which never expires and is connected to the digital products and services delivered to consumers. The KodeKey Rights Locker synchronizes users’ rights between the vendor-distributed applications and XQR-1 server in order to deliver universal access to products through an expansive ecosystem comprising content delivery networks and Internet streaming services.
XQR-1 can be used as a standalone solution or integrated with other rights locker registry services through two operational modes:
Widget Mode is a Web box component with a KodeKey entry field enhanced by login with Facebook® and connected to more than 500 million people who use Facebook every month. Example code is provided to developers, demonstrating how to construct universal access products using XQR-1 with Microsoft’s Windows Media DRM 10 and Silverlight with PlayReady technologies.
Server Mode is a WSDL interface for the KodeKey Rights Locker connected to the back-end services of a developer’s application GUI. Server Mode can register and authenticate KodeKeys with alternative user ID systems from Google, Yahoo, MSN, and DECE’s UltraViolet.
XQR-1 is designed to operate as a front-end multiplatform access monitor for:
Desktop applications
Video games
DVD and Blu-ray digital copies
WMDRM, Silverlight PlayReady and other DRM technologies
Internet services
Consumer electronics
Automobiles
