Most PS3s Connected to Internet

The Diffusion Group (TDG) announced that that one-third of U.S. broadband households now use a game console that is connected to the Internet. According to the statement, Sony’s PS3 tops the list with 78% of consoles being connected to the Internet, followed by Microsoft’s Xbox 360 at 73%, and Nintendo’s Wii at 54%.

Microsoft Corp. announced it is working with system-on-chip (SOC) partners Intel Corporation and Broadcom Corp. to deliver support for reference designs that will provide the complete Silverlight platform to set-top boxes, connected TVs, Blu-ray Disc (BD) players and other consumer devices.

Panasonic Licenses Microsoft exFAT

Microsoft Corp. announced that it has entered into an intellectual property licensing agreement with Panasonic Corp. to provide it with access to Microsoft’s Extended File Allocation Table (exFAT) technology, the latest generation of Microsoft’s file system. Panasonic is one of the latest companies to adopt exFAT technology through Microsoft’s new licensing program.
