Taiyo Yuden Disc Plant Resumes Some Shipments

Taiyo Yuden announced that, with the partial restoration of electricity and other infrastructure, it is now shipping some recordable optical disc (CD-R, DVD-R, BD-R) products from its That’s Fukushima subsidiary.

According to the statement, the company is working to revive operations at its Fukushima plant, which suffered building and equipment damage from the earthquake that struck the northern region of Japan on March 11, 2011.  Additionally, the production site is not subject to the power outages planned for the region.
