TCL to Show Latest Display Technology Products at IFA 2015, Looking to Expand Presence in Europe

BERLIN — TCL, dedicated to bringing bigger, smarter and more advanced display technology to the customers, will show its innovative Curved UHD TV H8800 at this year’s IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin. Besides, TCL will also introduce the 110’’ Curved UHD TV and cutting-edge Quantum Dot TV H9700. TCL this year is showcasing a full array of popular products with distinctive features to meet different needs.

TCL products are currently sold in more than 20 European countries, with a branch office in France, its largest market in Europe. TCL holds a market share of 8.4% in France, while overall it ranks No. 4 in Europe only after Samsung, LG and Philips. Taking the IFA showcase as a stepping stone, TCL plans to further expand its presence in European countries, bringing its bigger and smarter UHD products to the customers.

TCL’s latest Curved UHD TV H8800 is expected to be a highlight of IFA 2015. The series, available in both 65’’ and 55’’, has included the industrial leading display technologies Quantum Dot (QD), Wide Color Gamut (WCG) and High Dynamic Range (HDR). It boasts a 4000R curvature and Harman/Kardon speakers to provide an unparalleled immersive experience in curvature, color, definition and sound. The curved screen is specially designed not only to create a vivid picture effect but also to reduce fatigue after long-time watching, while the Harman/Kardon speakers rarely seen in consumer electronics will bring professional audio effects to the customers.

The 110’’ Curved UHD TV will be the centerpiece of TCL’s exhibit at IFA. It features a 4K resolution LED backlit-LCD display and dynamic backlighting. It supports a peak brightness of 800 nits, a color gamut of NTSC 91%, local dimming technology, 6000R curvature and HDR technology (HDR10/Dolby Vision). Customers will enjoy rich details and vivid colors brought by Dolby Vision, which provides a more dramatic contrast and a fuller color palette.

The Quantum Dot TV H9700, using TCL’s new Quantum Dot display technology which incorporates a film of tiny light-emitting crystals into regular liquid crystal displays (LCDs), is able to depict more of the RGB spectrum, from vivid colors to subtle tones, which is similar to OLED yet at a much more affordable price. It has achieved the world’s highest color gamut of NTSC 110%.

“There’s a reason TCL has become known for producing market-leading televisions. As the only Chinese TV manufacturer with a full supply chain penetration, CSOT enables us to invest more in product development and save more in production respectively,” said Warren Wang, General Manager of TCL Multimedia Overseas Business Center. “What this means is the very latest technology, the finest picture quality, the most impressive design, and the greatest functionality are all presented to the consumer at a price that few can match.”

The CSOT Panel Factory in Shenzhen, is China’s biggest and the world’s fifth largest LCD panel producer, with an annual output of 18 million panels in 2014, making TCL the only manufacturer in China that can produce its own panels to provide consumers with high quality products for the best available prices. With the operation of its T2 project and the progress of the T3 project to further enhance its LCD panel portfolio and sharpen its edge in 2015, it is expected to help TCL commercialize the 8K TVs by 2018.
