Ofcom, the communications regulator in the UK, announced that it has published a second consultation on a BBC proposal to control how its and other broadcasters high definition content is made available on Freeview (Digital Terrestrial Television).
According to the statement, the consultation asks whether the BBC should be granted a change to its digital license, allowing it to require content management technology be used in HD receivers in order to control the way films and TV shows are copied to consumer electronics devices and distributed over the internet.
